Leadership Development -

When the best leader's work is done, the people say, we did it ourselves"
- Lao Tzu, philosopher 6th century BC

Lao Tzu, once said that 'to lead people, walk behind them'. Traditionally when you think of leadership, do you think of being in front or behind your team? This question challenges us to think outside the box about leadership style and result.

To lead from behind means you must have a clear vision and the ability to communicate that vision to your team. For this to happen you need cooperation from your team, built on a solid foundation of trust, respect and understanding. Allowing your team to go before you encourages confidence, exploration, freedom and creativity, within the individuals that make up your team.

This unique training aims to examine and improve the effectiveness of your leadership. We are not looking at what you do as a leader but more importantly who you are being as a leader. Being an extraordinary leader means being present and open to listening to your team. Even in the best teams fear of making a mistake, looking bad or appearing stupid inhibits best performance. It is up to you as the leader to create the environment where breakthrough ideas can be voiced and heard without fear.

Working with horses you will learn how to synchronise your intention - mentally, emotionally and physically. When you start using this new knowledge with your team they will feel motivated, excited and willing to work with you, which will lead to a new level of performance.

Team Building -

'Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships'.
- Michael Jordon

To truly enhance results within a team, individuals must first learn how to expand their own comfort zones and secondly do the same as a group. Subconsciously we all have limiting beliefs that keep us in our comfort zones. Not knowing where those boundaries are makes it more difficult to go beyond them to achieve outstanding results.

We approach team building with the aim to create a space where individuals can explore who they are within the team. Discovering and acknowledging each others' unique talents and abilities will enhance team performance.

When working with horses the client will be challenged to create an environment that will support the team. Highlighting the boundaries of their comfort zone will enable teams to develop new strategies to achieve goals. Horses are extremely sensitive and will respect and trust a team that presents with clear communication, focused intention, empathy and right action.

Managing Change -

“If you want to know what the future is, be part of its development”.
- Peter Drucker, Author and Management Consultant 1909-2005

We appreciate that the energy and momentum needed to sustain business and staff morale through the process of change can be challenging, even for the best teams. The process needs the concerted efforts from all who are involved to move towards the new goal.

Using Appreciative Inquiry (based on the organizational development philosophy of Dr David Cooperrider) we take clients through a four level process to experience change.

Through the interactive programme with the horses we aim to highlight:

The opportunity to move through this process allows companies to experience organizational change before it is implemented. Issues may present that previously may not have been thought of. This gives clients the opportunity to prepare a different approach that potentially could save their company thousands of dollars.

Dr David Cooperrider is leading 'a positive revolution in change'. He believes that the most expansive results come from focusing and expanding on the positive, strength based ideas that are already present within an organisation.

The sensitive and subtle feedback from the horses will give you insight into how you can elevate your company to a new level, through a smooth transition.

Achieving Goals -

“To live is to choose. But to choose well, you must know who you are and what you stand for, where you want to go and why you want to get there” - UN General Secretary

To gear your staff towards high performance and boundary pushing results they are going to need direction and leverage. They need to believe in what they are working towards.
What type of goals are you promoting? Are you clear on what they are and does your team know also?

Using horses we provide a practical approach to defining goals and strategies. We are not only looking at the tangible results. More importantly we are looking at who you are being in the process of getting there. When you meet an obstacle how does the team react? How do you react?

The horses act as a medium to give you observable feedback on your goals and any obstacles that you may be facing. Working with the horses will give you the advantage of being able to actually physically assess potential outcomes when applying current practices. With this information you can then adjust project plans and team dynamics. The result will be renewed energy, clarity and determination.

The Art of Communication -

“The basic building block of good communication is the feeling that every human being is unique and of value” - Anon

To listen well and observe has as much power as to talk well. Language helps to create the experience of life. Conversations form relationships, families and businesses and the greater world. However, 93% of communication is non-verbal and without listening and being observant communication doesn't occur.

Working with horses demands that you be very clear in your communication both verbal and non-verbal. Horses do not understand words and therefore rely on reading body language and energy.
You will experience how to align your energy in such a way that your communication becomes clear and concise.

What type of world or work environment do you create for yourself through your communication? Is it supportive, inspiring and powerful or could it be improved?
